#Create quickbooks server 2015 install
PS: This might not help much, depending on how you do the installations, but one thing I do when I have to install something tedious like QuickBooks on a lot of different PCs is, I make a step-by-step checklist. At least that saves a little bit of time, Not a lot, but anything helps. So eventually I quit having to check each one.

Wasn't too bad though. The install process still asks the usual questions, one being, 'do you want this to run alongside the old version or uninstall the old version before installing the new version' (paraphrased - to which I always tell it to remove the old version and install the new version back in the same place). And one 'plus' I found even doing them manually this time, in this latest version, is once you upgrade the server and the company files (which is step 1) and put your Validation Code in, then the Validation Code is auto-entered from then on with subsequent installs and each one is automatically registered. The first few installs I was doing each time I would get to do the Validation step, I would find that install was already Validated/Registered.

30 clients and did them individually the manual way. Maybe through this process we will also learn how to install future maintenance releases with PDQ Deploy too. Great news - way to go! I appreciate your effort attempting to get this resolved. When you run the installer it will not upgrade or remove the existing QB, but instead it installs side by side with the existing QB version. Also, I need to add the uninstall feature which failed the first time I ran it, but I'll get it working.

I need to do a few more tests on Windows 7 and 8 to make sure it works, but when I get it perfected I'll share the "How To" info with you in this thread. I was able to do it silently and got the Product Key installed. I was able to install QB 2015 using PDQ Deploy.

I'm more than happy to see if we can research the settings and test the install using PDQ Deploy.Īnyone found a way to install QB Ent 2015 using GPO or using a program like PDQ Deploy? Also I need to figure out how to push out a GPO policy that disables the Sync and Protect services that QB installs since they have no value to me. I wonder if there are some registry entries and config files that could be modified to automate the install. I have PDQ Deploy, but haven't tried to do an install using it. I agree with everything you said and no I haven't found any additional info for doing a push install!

I'm about a week and a half away from install date and it usually eats up about 10 or 12 hours of a Saturday to install the upgrade each year. Heck, with a validation code, the users could maybe do the validation (unless it requires an Admin Windows login, which it might).Īnyway, just wondering. Even if I had to go around and register each machine afterwards, it would still save a ton of time just pushing the install out using something like PDQ Deploy.
